Summerville,
is a post village, capital of Chattooga County, Georgia, 181 miles north west of
Milledgeville, 652 miles from Washington City. It is situated on the west side of Chattooga River,
a branch of Coosa River. It contains a court house, jail, and about 175 inhabitants.
